Verda’s Creation Table: acrylic paint on wood

This little table one of my friends from church gave me to paint. At first I was going to do a floral pattern. Then I thought dinosaurs would be neat and finally I came to painting the creation story with Bible verses.

This section of the table depicts the garden of Eden. Which shows how God made everything perfectly. Now we have death and suffering because man choose to rebel against God.

scripture: “And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.” Genesis 2:8

This section of the table shows how God had Noah build a huge boat (big enough to fit 400 rail road cars inside) to save himself , his family and two of every kind of animal during the world wide flood God made. God destroyed all the wicked people during the flood and left plenty of evidence we see in the billions of fossils found all over the earth. Also there are hundreds of flood legends in just about every culture.

scripture:“And, behold,I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.”Genesis 6:17

This is depicting the cross that Jesus died on so we can go to heaven. The Bible says “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 which means we are not able to get to heaven because of the wrong things we know we all have done. We deserve to die and burn in fire forever in hell, because we have willingly sinned against God. We have all done things God said were wrong and we knew it but choose to do it anyway, that is called sin. God wants us all to go to heaven because he loves us. But he is a just God and can’t allow sin into heaven.  A good example if this would be if you had been caught drunk and speeding in a blind child playing area. You were arrested and thrown into jail with a $100,000 fine. You don’t have the money to pay the fine so you just sit there for weeks.Then two men come walking up to your jail cell you can see clearly that one is the jailer he says your debt has been paid you can go free. You then notice the other man is your father he says I borrowed the money and payed your fine for you so you could go free. Just as a judge could not let you get out of jail unless someone paid your fine, God could not let you go to heaven until someone paid your debt. Jesus (who is God) lived a perfect life, never did any wrong and died on the cross to pay the debt of your sins that would send you to hell. The Bible says all we have to do is accept the gift of heaven, by asking Jesus to forgive us of our sins and take us to heaven when we die. Once we have done that we can know for sure that we are going to heaven, because our debt of past sins and future sins has been paid for by Jesus with his life.

scripture:“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

This one depicts the rapture, the scripture on this one says “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.“ 1 Thessalonians 4:17
