Aslan Narnia painting: 16×20
The reason I painted this painting was at first for a close friend’s husband. During the planning stages in deciding the background I realized how much Aslan reminded me of Jesus and his resurrection. When he was captured, his disciples (friends) fled. After he was crucified and came back from the dead they believed him. After wards they were willing to die in order to tell others about him. This is one of many things that defines Christianity from other faiths. Although these days Christianity is used as an umbrella term representing all sorts of religious cults, in which don’t know who Jesus is or why he died. Not only his resurrection but his miracles are recorded in the Bible and extra Biblical books not even written by believers. Many faiths respect Jesus, but the fact is you can’t just respect him. Jesus claimed to be God and was crucified for this, so you must revere him as God or reject him as a fraud. Believing he was just a good guy or a prophet is not an option. He lived a perfect life never doing any wrong and choose to die for all of us.
We are all guilty according to God we have all done wrong things. According to God doing wrong will send us to Hell burning for an eternity. No one can say they have never lied, stole something, disobeyed there parents or displeased God. Jesus took the punishment all of us deserved so we didn’t have to. Jesus was nailed to a cross and tortured for us, so that we could go to heaven and live forever with God in bliss.
Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
