Have you ever tried using graphic programs to edit your paintings? I just recently tried it and love it! I don’t have to put the paint on my canvas in order to try out different color schemes, or to move my horizon, subject or even to take things out of my painting. Here are some examples of what I did using Gimp image editor (a free program) to edit one of my paintings.

Here I used the color balance tool to warm up the painting under colors on the tool bar.

with this one I moved the horizon using the crop tool, changed the walk way to the light house using the paint tool and took the fence out using the eye dropper to match the colors and the spray paint tool to apply them.

here I changed the painting to cool colors using the color balance tool.

this one I used the hue saturation tool under colors, it’s good to bring your painting into black and white to see the balance of light and dark colors.
