“Jesus King Of The Jews”

My sweet little daughter ask about Jesus just about every day. I thought making this painting would help her understand the gospel. I’m trying to help her understand that Jesus was beaten, tortured, mocked and killed for her sins. If she will ask him to save her she can go to heaven when she dies!
Isa 53:5 “He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;and with his stripes we are healed.â€
Rom10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.â€
Jhn 14:2 “In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you.â€
Rev 22:5 “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.â€
Isa 25:8 “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces;â€
Rev 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.â€
These sketches brought back some memories and provoked some deeper thought as I was looking for ways they could be used.
Colors intrigue me now that I am a Christian more than they did before. After reading in the Bible parts like where it talks about a “rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” I think differently about rainbows now and I can’t wait to see God’s throne! The Bible also talks about the colors that will be in the city God has built for his people and the colors it describes there excite me “And the foundations of the wall of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones.” All manner of precious stones, that has got to be beautiful! ” The first foundation [was] jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;”.  Some imagine with me these colors jasper-dark red,sapphire- sparkly blue, chalcedony-pearly white, and emerald- light grass green! I begin to picture in my mind what it may be like there, obviously colors are made by God for our enjoyment. Some color combination’s are more enjoyable than others to look at, this gives us an idea of what colors fit together.
These are the rules:
MONOCHROMATIC COLOR SCHEME -one color-different shades
ANALOGOUS COLOR SCHEME-three colors next to each other like red-orange- purple
COMPLEMENTARY COLOR SCHEME-opposite
SPLIT COMPLIMENTARY COLOR SCHEME-the two colors next to the opposite color: ex-if you pick red-green is opposite so blue-yellow -red would be a split complimentary color scheme.
TRIADIC COLOR SCHEME-makes a triangle on the color wheel-red-blue-yellow

It is strange how “Cats” such simple creatures can affect our lives.
“Elsy”
pencil and paper
This is one cat that affected my life. Elsy was given to me by my Grampa who was a great influence in my life. She represented the bond I had with my family and hope for the future.
“Buddy”
charcoal on paper
Buddy was also a present from Grampa. Buddy taught me about God’s provision in a time of grief. Buddy was sick one night when I came home and he was having touble breathing.Eventually he was coughing up blood and whining. It was too late for any vet office to be open, so I just sought God to take care of the situation. I prayed that God would take buddy quickly and that his pain would stop and God answered that prayer in only minutes. Horrified by buddy’s condition and at the same time amazed by the power and presence of my loving heavenly Father. Buddy showed me God’s great provision for those in need.
“Aslan”
“oil paint of canvas
“Alsan” or the story of Alsan showed me the reality of what my savior did for me on the cross. Jesus’ death on the cross can seem so far off and long ago that we have no real understanding of the pain he experienced for us. But when I was painting Aslan and listening to the story it really brought to life the reality of what Jesus went through for me.
For I [will be] unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: Hosea 5:15
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: John 8:12
The song in my heart lately has been “the light of the world is Jesus” especially the third verse:
“Ye dwellers in darkness
With sin blinded eyes,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Go, wash, at His bidding,
And light will arise.
The Light of the world is Jesus!”
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5
The Garden of Eden used to seem like an impossible dream to me. After studying some of the Bible I can see now how the garden of Eden could really have existed scientifically.
Did you know that some scientists believe that at one time the earth had a shield around it? The Bible tells us that the earth had a shield of water around it above the firmament (heaven) or (sky). This is what protected the earth and gave it the perfect condition talked about in the garden of Eden. You see the earth was perfect then, it had no death or suffering at all. This shield would create a greenhouse effect that would protect the vegetation, animals, and people, giving them amazing longevity. That would explain the old ages of some of the people we hear about in the Bible. Everything would grow much bigger and better and we find evidence of this in the fossils. You can find this in the book of Genesis “ And God said, Let there be a firmament (firmament means sky) in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. From this verse we can see that there was water above the sky (firmament).
Have you ever heard of the flood? Everything was good until Adam and Eve disobeyed God, Then God took away some of his sustaining power so death and suffering were brought into the world. Because man became so wicked God sent a flood to judge their sin. Only some of Noah’s family were saved on a huge boat. This is why the earth is in the state it is today, we can see evidence of this flood every where. The land masses have wrinkles from pieces of earth colliding together called mountains and valleys. We can see huge cracks in the earth called fault lines. On top of that the earth in 70% covered in water, with billions of fossils all over the earth and the list goes on.

Open Flowers and Palm Trees-20×16
“The two doors also [were of] olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid [them] with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.” 1 Kings 6:32
“Golden Ratio God Signature”
This painting and photograph is about how detail and beauty are important to God. We can see this in the world around us. He has even left a signature in his creation through the golden ratio. This verse about open flowers and palm trees inspired me to paint this painting, it spoke to me about God’s love for detail and beauty. It tells me that the people working on this project probably did their best. God must have been pleased with this because he mentioned it in his word. Psalms 33:15 “He fashioned their hearts alike he considereth all their work.” Also tells me that God is paying attention to the details we put into things. I can see that if we love someone we will give them our best and in order to love God we must give him our best. When you stop to think about when you really “Give you best” it’s kind of funny, when company comes over we rush to clean the house. But if we love God we should be putting in our best effort like that for him all the time. Another thing I have learned is that we cannot earn Gods love, it is a free gift. Thats why we cannot work to get salvation either, “But God commendeth his love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 Jesus loved us before we ever loved him and gave his life for us there is no greater love than that. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 13:15
We love him, because he first loved us. 1John 4:19

“Gladys’ Prayer, Gods Provision” watercolor on watercolor paper
This is a painting of Gladys Aylward as she prays to God to help her because she has over a hundred orphan children in he custody which she is trying to get to an orphanage miles away on foot during a war. The journey goes on for days with completely exhausted Gladys and children, meanwhile the enemy seems to be every where. This painting depicts the scene of her praying earnestly that God would help them as the reach an uncrossable body of water and seem to be trapped by the enemy. Just like with Moses God shows himself faithful to Gladys with his miraculous provision, He provided just what they needed just in time to escape their enemy.
“Tree with 12-different kinds of fruits”
Gimp-drawing and editing tools
style-surrealism
When my daughter was very sick we would stay up until 3Â am most nights reading the Bible and I would try to sing her to sleep. One day she asked me about the tree with the twelve different kinds of fruits in heaven-the golden city of God. I tried to explain it and soon I was drawing it out for her and eventually created this picture.
Revelation 22:2 “the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.”
