“Jesus Crucified”

Many of the pictures of Jesus crucified do not really capture the reality of what he endured. It says he was not recognizable “As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man” Isaiah 52:14. This painting is portraying that reality. It also shows the multitude of people watching him die, this is painted from an “above” perspective.

“But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” Isaiah 53:5.

He died for our sins, the Bible tells us “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10 If we open our heart to God and ask him to save us our sins can be forgiven, and heaven can be our home..
