“Garden Of Eden”

the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Genesis 2:15

I was talking to someone today about the fact that the account of Genesis shows us where death

and suffering came from.Here in chapters 2-3 it describes the events that took place. “the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die…the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him…the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man…the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: …when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat…the LORD God said unto the woman, What [is] this [that] thou hast done?..I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel..Genesis 2-3

We can see in these chapters that fact that God made the garden good and wanted to have fellowship with man. Our fellowship was broken when man chose to sin. Then death and suffering were brought into the world. God then makes us a promise that he will send a savior when he says “seed of the woman” bruising the serpents head. This teaches us about Jesus and the victory he has had over satan when he died on the cross for the sins of the world. If we believe in our heart and pray and ask God to save us from hell because of Jesus’ death on the cross we can be saved. those who are saved will one day live with God and in a wonderful place and have fellowship with God at all times.
