Is Jesus God?
This is another question people seem to have a hard time answering with certainty. The only reason we can not say for sure must be that we do not know the Bible.
“Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.” John 5:17-18
Jesus certainly said He was God! “The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth
the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” John 5:19 and“That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.” John 5:23 We should not back down when people say he is just a man, or just a prophet, or the son of God but rather make the truth clear. The scripture says Jesus is God and any thing less is blasphemy. Compare these verses for yourself “For the LORD your God [is] God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God” Deuteronomy 10:17,” remember this is the old testament talking about “Jehovah” and “the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings:” This is the new testament and this tells us who the lamb is “Revelation 17:14 and “John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29 Certainly Jesus is Jehovah and also the lamb. If that is not enough, Jesus has several other names he is referred to as in the Bible one of them is Emmanuel ” a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”Matthew 1:23 Emmanuel means-God with us. It does not get any clearer than that!
