Gods Perfect Timing
After realizing My husband had the car seats in his car this afternoon that my children and I were stranded at home. I decided we should go to a road near us and pass out gospel tracts to some neighbors of ours. On the way there we were walking past a large cemetery and witnessing a casket being lowered into a grave. My daughter watched it as we walked by …
and I could see the wheels turning in her head. Tonight as I was tucking her into her bed she started asking about that scene she had experienced today. Then we talked about the fact that we will all have funerals unless Jesus returns before we die. Then she asked about the rapture. I told her we do not know when it will happen, God wants more people to be saved. After the rapture those who have rejected Jesus after hearing the gospel will be cut off. They will not get another chance to be saved. It will be to late. As our eyes filled with tears we then began to discuss the second coming. I remembered the the verse “Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17 We talked about how when Jesus returns for the rapture he does not touch the earth. The second coming is when he touches the earth again. The tribulation comes before his second coming and at that time from what I understand there will be two witnesses sharing the gospel sent by God, 144,000 Jews and a angel in the sky preaching the gospel “I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him;” Revelation 14:6.
My daughter said “that is great then they do not have any excuse, they will have to be saved! will they all be saved?” No sadly they will not. Then we talked about what it will be like after Jesus second coming. All the armies of the earth will try to fight against God and when Jesus returns he will wipe them out. Then he will set up the new kingdom in Jerusalem that golden city. Those who accepted Jesus during the tribulation will come into the city. Then we talked about how even after a thousand years in that wonderful city people will reject it and choose hell. After some tears she said she was not sure if she really meant it in her heart when she asked Jesus to save her before. Then she said what do I need to do to be sure? I told her you have to know that you are a sinner, she said I do, then I said you have to believe hell is real and that Jesus died for you, she said “I do I have read about it”. Then I said you have to ask God to save you acknowledging all these things. We went into another room and she prayed “God I know I am a sinner, and that Jesus died for me. I want you to save me! How wonderful.” Then my younger daughter said she wanted to be really saved too. She came in and prayed ” God I know I am a sinner, I do not want to go to hell. Please take me to heaven.” God’s perfect timing is amazing! What a blessing it is to know that both of them will truly be in heaven with me. I had no idea how God was working on their hearts after seeing that casket being lowered into the grave as we went by the cemetery. Only God and his perfect timing could have orchestrated all this. One of my friends just called a few minutes after this and said she was going to call earlier (which would have interrupted the conversation my daughter had with me) but she got a terrible headache. Gods timing is amazing!
