“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come…

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come.Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38

I frequently run in to people who are quick to judge other peoples salvation. They say that they do not think a person can simply be saved by Christ alone, that there is more to it. Ephesians tells us “by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:”2:8

Over and over the Bible tells us it is a gift from God through Jesus Christ our Lord. He died on the cross “he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 corinthians 5:21

It is not for us to judge “Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.” 1 Corinthians 4:5 If someone tells me that they have genuinely asked Jesus to save them from hell, because he died on the cross for their sins so that they could go to heaven, I believe them. Just because they do not show up at church on Sunday does not mean they are not saved. They may have barriers in their life keeping them from a better relationship with God. They may have been burned by churches in the past. Many people these days struggle with drugs and alcohol. They may have gone through some kind of abuse and have used substances to numb them selves out for years. They may have emotional issues and social issues, or economic issues that keep them from darkening the door way of the church on Sunday.

A pastor came to our house weekly to do long Bible studies with our family and that is what kept us accountable and going to church as baby Christians. We should not give up on people who do not come to church, they are babies like the people in the Corinthian church. Jesus said  “The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” Luke 4:18 and again “the poor have the gospel preached to them.” Mark 11:5 We know that it is right to get the gospel to these people because they will accept the Lord although they may not make it to church. Their salvation does not depend on how often they go to church it is only of Jesus alone. “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? [It is] God that justifieth.Who [is] he that condemneth?” Romans 8:33-34
