O death, where [is] thy sting? 1 Corinthians 15:55

“why stand we in jeopardy every hour?”v30

How can we have hope in death? The Bible tells us “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 If we believe this and have accepted Jesus as our savior the Bible tell us there is great hope in death.”God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.” v 38, “[There are] also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial [is] one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial [is] another.” v 40, the Bible tells us about different bodies and describes our natural body as a seed and when it dies we are told “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.” Psalm 17:15. The Bible explains the death of a believer this way as well “So also [is] the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.” v42-44 The Bible gives us the hope of having a new body. Then it also tell us that“We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” v 52-53 We have great and precious promises given to us through the scripture, But it also says “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” v19 If Jesus did not die to save us we are yet in our sins and have no hope. Thank fully Jesus did die for us “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” v 22 If we are believers (meaning we have asked Jesus to save us) we need not fear the grave. “O death, where [is] thy sting? 1 Corinthians 15:55″
