Why Are Prayers not Being Answered?

Why Are Prayers not Being Answered?

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

We want to ask for stuff but we do not want to turn from our wicked ways so God will hear us.

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts. James 4:3

Maybe we ask for wrong things just for our own benefit with out thinking of the cause of Christ.

“I count all things [but] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:” Philippians 3:8

Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.Mark 8:34

Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? Romans 9:21

Maybe we are not in his will, because we have not denied our selfish pride and started working for the cause of Christ winning souls.

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. Mark 8:38

Maybe we have not been in an able state of or process of continual prayer interaction with God throughout our day.

men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Luke 18:1

Maybe we have not had true intercessory prayer (where we are sorrowful because the cause of Christ is so real to us).

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: Matthew 26:38

Maybe we have not allowed God, or the circumstances around us to break us so that we can come to God weeping over the lost.

The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalm 51:17

Maybe we have never even accepted Jesus as our savior. If this is true, this is going to be our first prayer that really matters.

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, Philippians 3:10

If you have not accepted Christ as your savior, there are only two options heaven or hell. I am sure you would like to be in heaven, most people would. Unfortunately our own sin is what separates us from God.But fortunatly we have a good God who loves us and gave his son the Lord Jesus to die on a cross for our sins. He wants to give us heaven as a gift, it is not something we can earn, it was bought with a price but only Jesus could afford to purchase it for us. He was sinless, born of a virgin, God in the flesh, fulfilled countless prophesies about the coming Messiah including his death on the cross. You should now accept him as your savior because none of us in gaurenteed another second. You can do so by simply praying from you heart like the example below:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive my sins and save me from hell. I know You were born of a virgin, you never sinned, but you died on a cross for my sins, and rose again after three days. Please take me to heaven someday.Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.”

not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: Philippians 3:9
