Body Language

Just like we have recently seen with our president and his group photograph. Body language effects much of our daily lives it is amazing that most of our conversation takes place with just the manner in which we hold our bodies. Being a figurative painter I focus on peoples body language a lot. When I first began painting figures in a picture, I knew what I wanted to paint and the idea I want to portray but the body language in my painting was not right. This would make the whole picture off. The same goes for human relations. Body language means a lot to people, either in your painting or in life in general. Here are some examples of paintings where the body language is off and these paintings were ruined because of it.

In this painting it looks like the traveler is giving the cold shoulder.

This painting has figures not responding to their setting in a realistic way

Fall Colors

Fall colors not only make interesting color schemes. They also fill the  mind of the believer with dreams of what Zion will be like. The Bible says that God will build a colorful everlasting city  for those who have trusted in Yeshua-Jesus as their savior. This city will be built some day in Jerusalem. The fact that Israel became the Jewish state in May, 1948 falls right along Biblical prophecy. The fulfilling of thousands of other Biblical prophecies is exciting as well. But seeing Gods promises in the world around you in visual color form brings rest to your soul. Fall colors are more than just pretty leaves they are reinforcing that God put all these colors here to show us His heavenly city will soon be a reality.“ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, ” Hebrews 12:22

“he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and [there was] a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” Revelation 4:3

In revelation 21:2 John describes the New Jerusalem city in great detail. “I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,”…her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;…had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:…the building of the wall of it was [of] jasper: and the city [was] pure gold, like unto clear glass…the foundations of the wall of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones…the twelve gates [were] twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city [was] pure gold, as it were transparent glass.” Revelation 21:2-21. In these verses it speaks of a place full of colors, pearly gates, colored gem stone walls, and a street of gold. The things that we put great value into here are just building materials to God…

God Is Real

Someone asked me the other day, “Do you think God is real? I can not see him”. I told him pretty plainly if you read your Bible you can see God is real. He speaks to you through the Bible and you can see He is there. No one cares for you like God does. David said “I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble. Psalm 142:2. “When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path.” Psalm 142:3″no

Fossils

What are fossils?

Animals both living and dead buried in what was once wet dirt that has since dried into rock layers. These rock layers can easily form when water is running through sediment. Thus creating different rock strata with fossils in it like we see today…
