Why I am a Baptist and do not support Westboro Baptist Church. I have talked to people about this recently. After reading carefully over some of the comments on the WBC site it is clear that their doctrine concerning grace is wrong. From what I can see they believe in Calvinism, or other wise understood as “some people are chosen to go to heaven and others are not”. The Bible says ” God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ” John 3:16 The world includes every one. All of us are sinners, God hates sin, yet still wants our souls to be saved. “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15″ Why did Jesus tell us to go tell every one the gospel if not every one would be given the opportunity to be saved?

Also this idea that one can fall from grace, I do not find to be Biblical either. Here in the Bible I find a man who has done disgusting wrong things at the church of Corinth and they were told“deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. : 1 Corinthians 5:5.” This mans soul was still saved although his life was lost, because once we are saved,we are always saved.

Furthermore their delivery of the gospel is ineffective. From what I could tell they are misrepresenting God.

As someone who was saved out of a life full of terrible sin. What I have seen coming from their church would have not taught me that I need Jesus to save me, but that he hates people. It would have probably turned me away from the God who wants me to go to heaven. Sadly they themselves seem to be hardening the heart of a world of lost sinners God would love to see saved. Jesus himself said “The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few; ” Matthew 9:37. The signs WBC are holding up are just making the mission field of America even more difficult to reach.

The Bible says “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13.” Jesus did not go to the woman at the well and say “I am God and I hate you, you are a whore!” He told her if she would ask him, he would save her.” If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water…the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.  John 4:14 “It looks as though WBC has become the enemies of God themselves, not preaching the gospel but rather a false doctrine. “his wrath is [against] him that causeth shame. ” Proverbs 14:35. It is shameful the way they have gone about this picketing funerals, why not give out gospel tracts instead and tell people God wants them to go to heaven? like Jesus said to do. Personally I cried after finding out that Steve Jobbs was dead, considering he probably had not accepted Christ and will now spend an eternity in hell. What would Jesus have done in this situation. We can look at his life and see. He was sharing the gospel with the poor and needy. When Jesus openly rebuked people it was because they were posing as religious, scamming people, keeping the law and the did not even recognize the true savior.

I do not follow Armenian or Calvinism theology, they are both wrong. I just study the Bible. From what I understand the scriptures tell us no one can keep the law “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ” Romans 3:23. There is not one person on this earth who can keep the law. Only Jesus could do that, that is why he died for our sins and went in our place for us. “by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. ” Ephesians 2:8-9 The Bible is clear that it is not by our own works,or keeping the law, it is a gift. Once we believe,ask, and receive eternal life is ours or else it was not “eternal life” to begin with. ” the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ” Romans 6:23 No one can make you take a gift, you have to either accept salvation as a gift, or reject it. It is your own choice to go to heaven or hell, God does not choose for you.

Here the Bible says“if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ” Romans 10:9. Just like it says here believe and ask, and be saved. The thief on the cross next to Jesus did not keep the commandments. He was a wicked sinner and he asked Jesus to save him, and Jesus did. The second thief on the third cross did not ask to be saved. He mocked Jesus and he went to hell.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ” Matthew 5:16 I do not see how God is getting glory for this church picketing sin. I understand that they are calling sin, sin and that is good. But I can see people walking away thinking God hates me and will never save me. The Bible says“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Matthew 7:16″ turning people away from their savior is bad fruit. On one aspect I can agree with WBC “all the gods of the nations [are] idols Psalm 96:5″ only Jesus is the true God.

The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: Proverbs 14:14.”again God wants every one to be saved. “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. If we follow this line of thinking coming from WBC that would be like saying God hates every fat person and every lady that wears pants at WBC as well as the rest of the sinners they hold up signs about. Obviously God hates sin, all people can understand that, when other sin against you it hurts. Our sin grieves the heart of God. “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin [is] a reproach to any people.  Proverbs 14:34″ Why not share the gospel instead of turning people away from God?A lost and dieing world can not have freedom from sin with out Jesus. “He that winneth souls is wise.”If their true intention was to win souls we would see them sharing the gospel.  A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful [witness] speaketh lies. Proverbs 14:25.” Jesus and the disciples went out and shared the gospel. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction” James 1:27.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  Romans 1:16.”We can see people saved and free from their sin, not that they will become sinless. But because they are saved they will want to sin less. Revival could happen if we just share the gospel and pray for God to give the increase. Jesus commands us to do so. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:20

Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:  1 Corinthians 13:4 You should make the choice to accept Jesus today before it is to late. Just pour your heart out to God, tell him you know you are a sinner, deserve hell and that you want him to save you because of the blood that Jesus shed on the cross for your sins. Then you will know you are going to heaven because he saved you, hope to see you there.

Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. Matthew 22:9
