How do I know God exists?..

This is a question most of us have at some point. The answer should be easy for us to see, but unfortunately we can miss things that are easy for us to see. I like to put it simply like this “If there is a painting there must be a painter. If there is a creation, there must be a creator.” Nothing comes together by accident. Our bodies for example are made up of billions of complex organisms and they all have to be put together at the same time in order for our bodies to work right. If something is missing from our body we notice! That means our bodies must have been created whole like they are. Evolution (the idea that every thing is just an accident does not make sense). If we were just random accidents what is the point to our life?Why is everything so organized if it is all accidental? the stars and the moon, the sun are all in the right spots to give life on earth. If they were moved we would not have life. They all rotate with the earth like a fine tuned clock, so that the sun never runs into the earth or moon. This kind of order comes from no accident at all, to think so would be ridiculous. If evolution were true everything would be getting better over time. That is not the cases as things age they get worse not better. They rust, they wrinkle, they weather. If evolution were true there would be billions of intermediate animals (animals that are half some other animal) why is it that we do not find this? No instead we can find many of the same animals through all ages from when they were first created even until now. How can we have information with out a sender? The cells in our bodies contain information, how could this be possible with out a sender? We have now established that there must be a God…

How do I know who God is?

No that we have established that there is a creator God how do we know who he is? We can look around us for evidence. There are billions of fossils (Dead things buried in rock all over the earth) Fossils can only come about under special circumstances in which an animal is covered in mud and it is some how dried. The kind of fossils we find have been created in a rapid way. Animals giving birth, with food still in their bellies. We can determine that billions of animals were caught by surprise at some point in history. We can look to the Bible and see if there is an answer there. The Bible says God sent a flood on the earth about 4,400 years ago to judge the people on the earth for their wickedness. “I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, “Genesis 6. We can see evidence for the Biblical flood and the God of the Bible.

What about all these languages where did they come from? The answer can also be found in the Bible it says that the people of the earth were again doing wickedness so God confused their languages ” let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. “Genesis 11. The Bible explains why we have so many different languages. Why do we have death and suffering? We can look to the Bible for that answer as well. It tells us that God made every thing good and made a garden for the first man and woman he had created to live in. He gave them one rule “do not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil”. God told them ” in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. “Genesis 2. They of course did eat and death and suffering were brought into the world. But God also promised a savior, one who would come and die for the sins of the world. ” he was wounded for our transgressions” Isaiah 53:5. He promised that some day the world would have no more death and suffering and those who believed in the savior would live in a city of gold God will build in Zion called the new Jerusalem. ”every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.” Psalm 84:7 Where there is no more pain and suffering.  “there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. “Revelation 21.  God Said he would send this savior ” a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. ” Isaiah 7:14. this happened two thousand years ago. A baby also called Jesus which means (God with us) was born of a virgin and named Immanuel. ” a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. ” Matthew 1. As Jesus grew he began to do great miracles.“The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up” Matthew 11:5. Just as was prophesied of Jesus the God man hundreds of years before God appeared in the flesh“the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.” Isaiah 35. These things showed us that Jesus was God.

Then Jesus died on the cross for our sins. “they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. ” Matthew 27. The last words of Jesus were “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” a quotation of psalm 22 where it described the coming savior as “they pierced my hands and my feet. “This also showed us he was the savior. After Jesus died on the cross , three days later he rose from the grave. “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. ” Matthew 28. After he rose he told his followers to go and tell others that “whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” John 11. Jesus went back to heaven, waiting for the time when he will gather all believers to himself and send horrible judgment upon the earth again in order to set up his new kingdom that will never end. After he left He told the disciples “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. ” Mark 16:15. Damnation is speaking of a place of torment in fire for ever.

If you now understand that there is a God, and he is Jesus. “We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23. Because of our sin we deserve damnation in hell. “The wages of sin is death” Romans 6:23. But living forever in Gods kingdom is a gift. “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” All we need to do to receive this gift is believe, and ask for God to save us.You should pray something like this today to be saved. God wants you to know him, and to have a relationship with you.

“I know I have sinned and deserve hell. But I want you Jesus to save me and take me to heaven. Because I know you died to save me and rose again to live forever. In Jesus name I pray amen.”

You can live joyfully knowing that you know God, He is your savior. Your sins are forgiven and you are Gods priority as his child. You can share that gift with others. Tell them when you accepted Jesus, so they will understand and have that same opportunity.

” as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12
