“Going to the other place”
I just heard about one of the men running for president referring the mad man Fidel Castro’s death, saying “I think he is going to the other place”.
What is the other place? Hell. Hell certainly is nothing to joke about. Millions of people are going to Hell every year. at an average of one or more per minute. It is a serious topic. How do I know if I am “going to the other place?”
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,” Titus 3:5…
We can not just look at someone and say they are going to Hell. Because being good does not send someone to Heaven and being bad does not send someone to Hell. The Bible tells us that “all have sinned”Romans 3:23 and that “there is none that doeth good.”Psalm 14:1. We know our selves that we have done things that are wrong. The Bible describes hell as being a place of everlasting torment-”And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.” Then the Bible puts it this way “whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:14-15. Because of our sin “our wages” or what we have earned our self is death-the second death which we just read was the lake of fire.
But the Bible also tells us that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. It also tells us that ” with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10. Then the Bible says that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”Romans 10:13.
From these verses we understand that if you believe and will pray to God something like this you can be saved from “The other place” Hell:
“I know I have sinned and deserve hell. But I want you Jesus to save me and take me to heaven. Because I know you died to save me and rose again to live forever. In Jesus name I pray amen.”
You can know that God has pardoned your sin and saved your soul.
There is nothing better than knowing you are on your way to heaven!
