*Repentance and seeking “the only way” through Christ-watercolor
A girl once asked me if a Hispanic person could be saved or if Jesus only saved white people. I have actually heard Jehovah’s witnesses that were black tell me that they could not be saved. This is false teaching that a black person has the “mark of Cain” and cannot be saved. Jesus has darker skin he is Jewish. The Bible says we are all once race. We just have different shades of brown. Adam and Eve being the first man and woman God created. “LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2. Later the division of peoples languages at the Tower of Babel created the different people groups we see today.“the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth” Genesis 11:9. God’s word says there will be a time when people from every people group will stand in heaven around the throne of God and live joyfully with Jesus Christ for eternity in a city of gold. A city made for all people, for any one who accepts Christ. ” thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. ” Revelation 5:9-10.
Race has nothing to do with salvation it is a matter of repentance. By this I mean realizing all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and putting your faith in Christ alone not your good works to get you to heaven. “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20. Keeping the law will save no one. The law or “Commandments” just shows us that we fall short of perfect and need the savior. Salvation is a gift he gives to us freely. “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:24. All we need to do is accept that gift by calling upon his name and asking him to save us. “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13. Here is an example you can pray:
“Lord I know I have done wrong and fall short. I need you to save me, I know you died for me on the cross. Please take me to heaven someday. In Jesus name I pray Amen.”
