How Many people will go to heaven?

I run into people every once in a while who say that there are only going to be 144,000 people in heaven. To this I often reply something about how that does not jive with the scriptures. What is the real answer? How many will be in heaven?

“I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;”Revelation 7:9

Here we can see we are talking about a number no man knows of people at the throne of God and these people are from every nation. the even sadder thing is that sometimes i run into people who say because of their skin color God will not allow them into heaven. They say “they are not chosen”, God makes this clear too. Every nation is chosen by God!The scripture says “whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved.”Romans 10:13 God wants every one in heaven! However any one who rejects Jesus as the only sacrifice for their sins and tries to get to heaven by any other means will not go. “He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” John 10:1 and “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. ” John 10:7 We just need to believe in our hearts and ask Jesus to save us from hell,because he died for our sins and heaven will be our home forever.
