“The God Of All Comfort” During Suffering

“Blessed [be] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;” 2 Corinthians 1:3 God can comfort others through our sufferings, if we are seeking him in the process. If we are always seeking God and being comforted by him when things are good or especially when they are bad, other will be comforted

Body Language

Just like we have recently seen with our president and his group photograph. Body language effects much of our daily lives it is amazing that most of our conversation takes place with just the manner in which we hold our bodies. Being a figurative painter I focus on peoples body language a lot. When I first began painting figures in a picture, I knew what I wanted to paint and the idea I want to portray but the body language in my painting was not right. This would make the whole picture off. The same goes for human relations. Body language means a lot to people, either in your painting or in life in general. Here are some examples of paintings where the body language is off and these paintings were ruined because of it.

In this painting it looks like the traveler is giving the cold shoulder.

This painting has figures not responding to their setting in a realistic way

Fall Colors

Fall colors not only make interesting color schemes. They also fill the  mind of the believer with dreams of what Zion will be like. The Bible says that God will build a colorful everlasting city  for those who have trusted in Yeshua-Jesus as their savior. This city will be built some day in Jerusalem. The fact that Israel became the Jewish state in May, 1948 falls right along Biblical prophecy. The fulfilling of thousands of other Biblical prophecies is exciting as well. But seeing Gods promises in the world around you in visual color form brings rest to your soul. Fall colors are more than just pretty leaves they are reinforcing that God put all these colors here to show us His heavenly city will soon be a reality.“ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, ” Hebrews 12:22

“he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and [there was] a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” Revelation 4:3

In revelation 21:2 John describes the New Jerusalem city in great detail. “I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,”…her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;…had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:…the building of the wall of it was [of] jasper: and the city [was] pure gold, like unto clear glass…the foundations of the wall of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones…the twelve gates [were] twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city [was] pure gold, as it were transparent glass.” Revelation 21:2-21. In these verses it speaks of a place full of colors, pearly gates, colored gem stone walls, and a street of gold. The things that we put great value into here are just building materials to God…

God Is Real

Someone asked me the other day, “Do you think God is real? I can not see him”. I told him pretty plainly if you read your Bible you can see God is real. He speaks to you through the Bible and you can see He is there. No one cares for you like God does. David said “I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble. Butterflys-We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52

The Bible talks of a time when we shall all be changed. This is describing the time of the rapture. When Jesus returns to the earth and calls out his children. Also if we die before the rapture we shall be changed as well if we have accepted him as our savior, when we go to heaven. “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body,” Phillipians 3:21 describes this change in our bodies as well. If you have not accepted Jesus as your savior then the Bible says “all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 and since all people have told a lie at some point in their life, with out Jesus we will have to accept this penalty for our sins.

The Bible tells us that “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 If you have accepted Christ you will be changed just like a butterfly.

We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1Corinthians 15:51

The Hindu man and ape like ancestors…”Thy word is truth” John 117:17

I enjoyed talking to a hindu man today about evolution. All he had ever known was evolution. I explained that evolution does not makes sense scientifically. The laws of thermodynamics state that things are tending to disorder not order. Cars are getting rusty, were getting wrinkly…things doe not get better with time. I told him about the fact that darwin did not know how complicated a cell really was. It is more complicated than a city inside and holds genetic codes. For it to hold information it must have a sender. I told him I do accept that there is a variation with in a kind of animal, but one kind will not change into another. You can have a variety of dogs but they will never become a cat, you can have a variety in cats but they will not become birds. Human beings are different than animals we have an eternal component that animals do not have. We look in the mirror because we have an awareness that an animal does not.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Christian pastor facing the death sentence update

From what I have read he will be given another chance to recant and if he does not recant his faith he can be executed at any time. What a testimony this pastor is being to believers and unbelievers, that his faith is Christ is real. If it were not real, why go through all this trouble? His faith is being spoken of all over the world, what a wonderful thing.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani  is a Christian pastor facing the death sentence in Iran, for spreading Christianity. In spite of the efforts of the enemies of his Christian faith, there is actually much hope for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani the Bible says: “be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” Revelation 2:10 God promises special rewards to those who are martyrs. Most of the disciples died a martyrs death. This shows the reality of truth found in the Christian faith. Notice that Baptists have never used force or threats to make any one a Christian. Why? Because being a true Christian has to take place in ones heart. It is not a set of rules you follow or do not follow. It is believing Jesus died for your sins and asking him to be your savior. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ” Romans 10:9 Nothing can change that or take it away once he is your savior, and no one can force you to accept him. “to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain.” Philippians 1:21

Why I am a Baptist and do not support Westboro Baptist Church…

Why I am a Baptist and do not support Westboro Baptist Church. I have talked to people about this recently. After reading carefully over some of the comments on the WBC site it is clear that their doctrine concerning grace is wrong. From what I can see they believe in Calvinism, or other wise understood as “some people are chosen to go to heaven and others are not”. The Bible says ” God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ” John 3:16 The world includes every one. All of us are sinners, God hates sin, yet still wants our souls to be saved. “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15″ Why did Jesus tell us to go tell every one the gospel if not every one would be given the opportunity to be saved?

Jesus and God are One

One strong hold that seems to have gripped Muslims, Jews, Jehovah’s witnesses, and many other religions is the idea that Jesus is not God the creator of all things as the scriptures support him being. This scripture shows us that “Jehovah God is both LORD and savior “The LORD [is] my light and my salvation;” Psalm 27:1 This next verse shows us that Jesus (Emmanuel) is God“a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:23 and here is a similar passage found in the Bible stating that the Jewish Messiah is again Emmanuel (Jesus, Yeshua) God himself. “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14…

The Servant

“Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he [was] the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of [many] colours. ” Genesis 37:3

This painting of Joseph  always reminds me of being a servant. Joseph was treated badly by his brothers. Cancer

Cancer has affected many of my family and friends. It is such a devastating thing to face. I heard someone say it robs you of your time, money, family, belongings, but the one thing it can not take is your salvation. That is you promise of heaven if you have accepted Yeshua/Jesus as your savior. If you have cancer and have not yet accepted Yeshua/Jesus as your savior it is the most important thing you need to do. The Bible says with out Jesus, you will spend an eternity in hell. “in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors. ” Psalm 72:19. Hell is not where God wants you to go, Yeshua/Jesus died on a cross for you, and if you were the only one on the planet he would have died to save you. If you struggle with your faith in the Bible, let me assure you the Bible is true. The Bible speaks of Gods judgment on the earth that came by water, when a flood covered the earth. This is where the billions of fossils we find all around the earth came from, along with our mountains, valleys, canyons, fault lines, and many other evidences of the flood.

“that we should bring forth fruit unto God.” Romans 7:4

“that we should bring forth fruit unto God. ” Romans 7:4

The Bible says that Christ died for us and if we have accepted him as our savior he wants us to “bring forth fruit unto God”. Why do some get offended by this truth in the Word of God? The same reason we all get offended at things in the Word of God. We know it will require sacrifice and work on our part to make it happen. It takes work to make fruit come out of the ground. As we have found with our raspberries. It takes work, time and effort, at first you might not get a great harvest of fruit but if you keep working on it eventually you yield a great reward. The same thing is true for soul winning, it takes work and at first as you begin to share your faith you might not have the right words, but as you work at it you grow and learn. God works in your life, if you study the Bible daily as you go verses will come to mind to help you to know what is right and wrong to say. God is faithful and gives his promises “let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ” Galatians 6:9 and “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him]. ” Psalm 126:6. Just remember it is “God that giveth the increase.” 1 Corinthians 3:7. The glory goes to God! God is pleased with servants that will stand for truth.

“The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life; and he that winneth souls [is] wise. ” Proverbs 11:30

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

The heavens declare the glory of God;

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” Psalm 19:1

No one can deny there is a God even the heavens declare this to be true. “[There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard.” Psalm 19:3 Every one around the world in any given place can look up and see that there is a creator, there must be there is a creation. This is called the general revelation. the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:Romans 1:20 All people have that, I believe any one who truly seeks to know their creator will be given the gospel.

After the death of one of my friends I really sought to know the creator, and God began to bring people into my life to teach me about Jesus. I was not to kind to them to begin with, but eventually I began going to a good gospel preaching church and learned about trusting in Jesus so I would not have to go to hell. I went home and asked him to save me, and my life has not been the same. Heaven is a gift Jesus purchased on the cross for us.“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8 If we accept him as our saviour it is freely ours. We have all sinned “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”Romans 5:12. God made every thing good to begin with and because of mans rebellion we now have death and suffering, and hell. All of us deserve hell for our sin, but Jesus died to save us. “Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life.” Romans 5:18

“The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple.” 19:7 It is clear that the Bible makes even those who are simple wise. Any one who will claim that God did not make the world but that the world made it self is denying God and that is foolish. “The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God.” Psalm 14:1 So because of the creation we can be sure there is a God but how do we know that God is Jesus? The Bible is not just one book written by man, It is 66 different books written by forty different authors over a two thousand year period. All of these books fit together with out error, and the prophecies written hundreds of years before Jesus ever came were fulfilled .”The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof;” Psalm 24:1

But just as Jesus gave up comfort for the lives of others so should you so that other people can be saved. “add to your faith virtue” 2 Peter 1:5 What is virtue? Living right, not drinking, smoking, listening to bad music, dressing inappropriate, swearing, talking badly to parents, and staying abstinent until marriage…are just a few ways we can add virtue unto our faith.  Why does God tell me to do this?Because it will us in our lives, to have the best lives of service to God. “and to virtue knowledge;” How do I add knowledge? start reading your Bible.

Flowers In A Vase

“Flowers In A Vase”

“[As for] man, his days [are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.” Psalm 103:15

Why Does Persucution Come And How Do We React To It?

Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: 1 Thessalonians 2:15

Why do people persecute us? It is pretty clear here “they please not God”. Just like any situation in life those who try hard a do good are hated by those who will not put in any effort. People hard hearts also “Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.” psalm 55:19 they are so cold to God because they have not faced the hardships others have faced. They also believe they will face no hardship “[I shall] never [be] in adversity.” Psalm 10:6. Fearing the Lord creates a dependance on him and a love for him. The wicked are full of pride “The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God.” Psalm 14:1 and then we see “they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind,” Romans 1:28.It is sad but true that when one resists God long enough he gives them over. But“we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.” Romans 8:28 So how do we respond to persecution? Just like the disciples“rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.” Acts 5:41 rejoice always!

Who is the “rock” in the Bible?

“I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

What rock is the Bible talking about here? From what I understand Jesus is saying “That thou art Peter” speaking of Peter (which means pebble) and then Jesus speaking of him self saysupon this rock I will build my church;” This is important because many have been decieved into believeing the church was built on Peter, when it is actually Christ . An accurate knowledge of the scripture would show to be the truth to any one who reads the scriptures for themselves.“I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Romans 9:33 and again “For who [is] God, save the LORD? and who [is] a rock, save our God?” 2 samual 22:32 and again we see who is rock is “He shall cry unto me, Thou [art] my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.” Psalm 89:26

Okay so we understand now that the “rock” mentioned in the scriptures is Jesus. I am grateful Jesus is the rock of my salvation. The Bible only mentions two options after death, there is no purgatory in the Bible. A person will either be“absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8″ or if they have not chosen to trust in Jesus as their savior it will be like what is mentioned here in Luke an eternity in torment. “it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” Luke 16:22-24 No where in the Bible does it speak of any other option. If you have not accepted Jesus as you savior today I encourage you strongly to ask him to be your savior now. The Bible says it is only “with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 and “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”Isaiah 53:6 In order for your sin to be covered with his blood you must “confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 If you believe in you heart and pray right now and ask God to save you he will!

Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and If I died today, I would not go to heaven because of my sins. Forgive all my sins and save me from hell because you lived a sinless life and died on the cross to pay for my sins. Take me to heaven when I die. Please help me to live for you. In Jesus name,Amen.

Who will listen to the gospel? Will rich people go to heaven?

“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:24Who will listen to the gospel? It is funny to me sometimes how wealthy people  respond to Jesus. Some times the wealthy people will not take a gospel tract or sometimes they make rude comments about even being given one, I feel bad for them. The people I find that are most willing to listen are middle to lower class people. Why is this? The Bible says “God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5 The poor and needy are often the most humble teachable people I meet in a day. This is another passage where God talks about the rich “1Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you…

God Is Good

What an awesome scene this was to experience. This past week Christian mourners came to the park in remembrance of a friend who had now past into glory to be with the Lord. Shortly after they left it was like God sent a reminder of his love and his covenant.  “Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15 When someone has accepted the Messiah Jesus (who died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world) as their personal savior when they pass away they are with God. The Bible says “absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 That person is now with the Lord where “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4 Yes the separation we experience on this earth can be difficult when we lose a loved one, but the Bible tells us “I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you…if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.” John 14:2

What will Heaven Be like?

The Bible describes heaven and the city of God:

“God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away…the building of the wall of it was [of] jasper: and the city [was] pure gold, like unto clear glass…the foundations of the wall of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation [was] jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates [were] twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city [was] pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof…the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there..And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb… In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits” Reveltaion21-22

A Healthy Diet

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2

Every one knows we need to have healthy diets if we are going to live a happy life. Every day we see the effects of people who do not eat a healthy diet. I would say the same is true when it comes to the scripture. The Bible says “desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow” we cannot be healthy with out being fed from the Bible daily. I eat from the word of God more than once a day. A Christian lady I ran into the other day handed me a stack of 5×7 cards with verses written on them and she said give them back after you read through them. She reminded me how good a “Bible snack” is. Some of those verses I had not read in a while what a blessing! If we are going to have the right mind set we need to eat daily and even snack in order to hide God’s word in our hearts. Many times the Word of God has stopped me from doing what is wrong and led me to do what is right. We need this if we are going to live happily. “Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4

A healthy diet must include meat. Something is missing if we do not have meat in a meal. It does not keep you satisfied. In the Bible it says this about meat “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” John 4:34 What is his will?“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 God’s will is that none should perish, he wants all people to hear the gospel.“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15 Nothing fills you up with more joy than sharing the gospel with others and watching the Word of God work on their hearts.

“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John2:17 Have you had your miracle today yet? I have, God performs miracles every day if we are where he wants us to be, doing what he would have us to do, we can experience the miracles of God on a regular basis.

God’s Love Always In View

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith;” Hebrews 12:2

God has put rainbows in many different things in his creation. it should come as no surprize that he also tells us there is a rainbow around his throne as well. This painting is about the promise God gives the believer who accepts Jesus Christ as his savior to one day see the rainbow surrounding the throne of God. Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Matthew 19:28

Rev 4:3  And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Know ye not that we shall judge angels?

“Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” 1 Corinthians 6:2-3

These verses give us another clue into what our thinking should be about the great salvation we have, if we have trusted in Jesus Christ as our savior. The ability to judge angels and the world. It puts things in perspective when your making life decisions. “the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?” 1 Corinthians 6:9″And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:11 These verses are such a blessing!

We must remember that though we are saved we will not be perfect, but that is not an excuse to purposely ignore what God wants.“All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” 1 Corinthians 6:12 The Bible says sin shall not have dominion over us.“he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” 6:17 These verses tell us that God indwells the body of the believer.“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 6:19 How can we continue to live in sin when God is with us and giving us power to over come it?“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 6:20
